Air Force Ban Forces Chobani to Modify One of Their Flavors

Chobani, maker of boutique Greek yogurts, has decided to remove hemp seeds from one of their yogurts named "Blueberry Power Flip". The move comes after the Unite States Air Force issued a ban on that specific flavor citing the potential of hemp seems to give a false positive to drug tests they administer. Chobani did not want the ban to reflect negatively on their commitment to support the men and women of the Armed Forces and made the decision to remove the questionable ingredient.

An Air Force attorney by the name of Capt. Adam Koudelka explained that this single flavor was the only one banned by the Air Force. He also added that the Air Force does not allow any product that contains hemp seeds or hemp oil. Hemp is a collective term for various types of Cannabis hence the ability to potentially give the false positive of smoking or ingesting marijuana.

While the drug has been legalized in Colorado and also for loosely defined "medicinal" purposes California and New York, the US Military has not budged on the use of substance. Chobani is currently one of the official sponsors of the US Olympic Team and has benefited from the soaring popularity of Greek yogurt in the US.
