Dave Chappelle sparks Comeback Rumors

Excitement has grown online following the three night residency of comedian Dave Chappelle at New York’s Comedy Cellar about a possible comeback and stand up comedy tour. After walking away from the $50 million deal to produce a third season of his Chappelle’s Show in 2005 the comedian has made only a few public appearances and appeared on stage for brief appearances. His March appearance at the New York comedy club is his first serious attempt at a comeback following his move out of the limelight to Yellow Spring, Ohio.
Appearing with a number of guests, including Marlon Wayans and Kevin Hart Chappelle sparked serious anticipation about a comeback tour whilst joking with fellow comedian Chris Rock. Still classed as one of the most influential comedian’s of the 21st century Chappelle’s questioning of whether he should return to the stage on tour with Rock prompted Rock to discuss his availability on stage. The star of Half Baked left Chappelle’s Show midway through producing the third season to visit Africa and is said to live a reclusive life away from his earlier fame.
