Drew Barrymore Grew Goatee During Pregnancy

Drew Barrymore got more than a growing belly when she was pregnant with her first child, she admitted during a recent interview. Hormonal changes to the actress’s body due to her pregnancy encouraged the growth of facial hair and Barrymore says she discovered she was growing a red goatee while pregnant with her daughter, Olive.

“I got a wonderful little goatee — and it was red!” Barrymore, 38, who just launched her Flower Beauty cosmetics line, confessed to In Touch. “I also got hyperpigmentation on my cheeks.”

The actress, who grew up in the entertainment business as part of a legendary theatrical dynasty, also says she experienced a skin condition known as hyperpigmentation thanks to her fluctuating hormonal levels while expecting. While awaiting the arrival of her first born, Barrymore says that concealer became her most valued cosmetic product to help her hide her facial goatee.

“If I was going off to a desert island, concealer is the one thing I’d want to take. It’s the only product that I couldn’t make it without!” she shared with In Touch.

She also speculates that if she were to escape to a deserted South Pacific Island, she wouldn’t need to bring any cosmetic products with her with the exception of concealer. Barrymore recently launched her own line of beauty products.
