Elmo Puppeteer Sued Again For Alleged Sexual Impropriety
Legal woes continue to mount for actor Kevin Clash, who provided the voice for the beloved “Sesame Street” character Elmo since 1985 before resigning last fall.
Clash has been sued again by 24-year old Sheldon Stephens, a man who claims and he and Clash carried on a sexual relationship while Stephens was still under the legal age of consent.
His current lawsuit is seeking an award of more than $75,000. Stephens originally filed a lawsuit against Clash and several other men last fall, but agreed to an undisclosed settlement out of court, all the while saying that the sexual relationship was consensual and dis not begin until he was 16.
In the lawsuit filed Monday, Stephens claimed Clash would regularly send a driver to pick him up in Harrisburg, Pa., and bring him to Clash’s apartment in New York City. In one instance, Stephens alleges he and Clash were driven to the chauffeur’s apartment for a “crystal meth sex party” where Clash smoked crystal meth and had sex with Stephens while the chauffeur watched and masturbated, the New York Post reported.
Upon reading the terms of the settlement more closely, Stephens ultimately chose to reject it and the cash award attached because it would have required him to deny that any sexual relationship with Clash ever existed. Stephens says the two initially met at an actor/model networking party.
