USA Today reports, the 67-year-old actress walked the red carpet in London wearing a Nicholas Oakwell gown that featured embroidered flowers, which went well with her chosen hair color.

When asked why she decided on such a shocking color for her hair, Mirren said it all went back to television. She had been watching an "America's Next Top Model" season that featured all British talent, and said the girl who won the season also had pink hair. She thought the color looked divine on Sophie Sumner, the model in question, and thought she would also give it a try.

'I just thought it would be fun to dye my hair pink," she told reporters, according to the Daily Mail. "I mean, honestly, I was watching America's Next Top Model and the season where there were the British girls. Well the British girl who won, she had pink hair, and I thought, 'That looks really pretty.' So I'm copying her basically."

Reactions were mixed, but a majority of critics actually seemed to think that Mirren wore the color well. Some even lamented the fact that the color was likely only temporary.
