Shepherd, star of the UK's most popular soap opera Coronation Street, has been told he can no longer wear two t-shirts he'd had on while filming scenes as his TV character David Platt. Viewers had noticed the t-shirts when watching the show on TV and several had written to ITV studios complaining.

Shepherd had already been told to stop wearing one t-shirt with the slogan "Turn Me On" as viewers didn't like it, when he decided to wear another one stating "Sha-ting!"

While the t-shirt is supposed to be in reference to the sound viewers hear on the TV show Celebrity Juice, if you're not familiar with the show it could be seen as meaning something quite different -- a vulgar term for defacating'.

Unfortunately, it seems Jack P. Shepherd either isn't particularly bright or he's determined to do exactly what he wants. After all, it's only four years ago that he caused several Coronation Street scenes to have to be re-shot and cost the studio a few thousand pounds, when it was discovered his t-shirt in some scenes said 'Schwetty Nuts'. You'd think he would have learned.

Coronation Street is the world's longest-running soap opera having first-aired in 1960. It has a loyal following in the UK, with millions of viewers still tuning in twice a week to watch it.

Even though story lines have changed over the years to keep up with modern times, there are still some things Coronation Street viewers don't want to see on their favorite show, and that includes offensive t-shirts.

Here in Canada, you can catch Coronation Street Week days from 7:30pm to 8:00pm or wait until Sundays and watch from 8:00am to 10:30am (EST).
