Fired Rutgers Coach heads back to the Court

Despite being fired from his job as the head coach of the Rutgers men's basketball head coach Mike Ric is still coaching basketball at a lower level. Apparently with the full support of the parents of the team's players, which includes his own daughter Rice was spotted Sunday coaching a seventh grade girls team in the Amateur Athletic Union League. Rice was fired from his high profile basketball coaching role after video showed him physically and verbally abusing players during practice sessions; the news of his firing was welcomed by public figures such as New Jersey's Governor Chris Christie.

News broke on Sunday of the first sightings of Rice coaching on the sidelines of the team of 11 and 12 year old girls on basketball websites.

Posting to Twitter eye witnesses claimed Rice's behavior included yelling at both his players and referee's officiating the game; in response the parents of the teams players issued a statement claiming they fully backed Rice and his behavior during the game at Holmdel High School in New Jersey had been taken out of context. Despite his sacking from Rutgers Rice is thought to remain well respected amongst the college basketball community.
