Royal Caribbean Unveils New Cruise Ship "Quantum of the Seas"
When people embark on a cruise vacation, they do so for the 24-hr meals and creature comforts aboard the ship.
Vacationers do not embark on a cruise to go sky diving, experience theme-park thrill rides, bumper cars, roller skating, and a large indoor sports complex. That is until now. Royal Caribbean unveils the new ship "Quantum of the Seas" which will feature a number of benefits they claim are being offered for the first time.
"This new generation of ships gave us an opportunity to make another leap in vessel design. Innovation has always been part of our DNA and we have taken advantage of all that creativity to design Quantum cruising," stated Richard D. Fain , chairman & CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. "The unique features on Quantum will boggle our guests' minds, but the real strength of the design is how our people have integrated all these diverse components to create a comfortable and exciting experience."
The grand announcement was made before the press at an unveiling event by actress Kristin Chenoweth.
Royal Caribbean believes that this latest ship is in harmony with their 40 years of experience offering "first at sea" features. The company was the first cruise line to offer rock climbing and ice-skating on a cruise. They will add to their growing list of "first at sea" a skydiving simulator called "RipCord by iFly".
"We are excited to be introducing major advancements in ship design and offerings on Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas," said Adam Goldstein , president & CEO, Royal Caribbean International. "The innovative spirit of our brand is alive and well, and with Quantum class, we will deliver more unexpected activities in the most extraordinary spaces. Our guests should prepare to be wowed."
The company says both beginners and experienced sky divers will be enjoy the experience. They will also offer the thrill ride called "North Star" which will transport riders up to 300 ft. above the ocean and along the exterior of the ship. The new ship will debut in the coming year, 2014.
