The Disneyland Resort in Southern California provided the perfect atmosphere for singer Mariah Carey to remarry husband Nick Cannon as part of the couple's fifth anniversary celebration this week.
"On our way to renew our vows," Carey tweeted beforehand. "I love you @Nick Cannon."
The couple originally exchanged wedding vows in the Bahamas in 2008 and welcomed their children three years later. The renewal ceremony had a "Fantasy" theme asking "Do You Believe in Fairy Tales" in keeping with the couple's Disneyland location, with the 43-year old bride outfitted in a princess-style gown including matching tiara, and the 32-year old groom appropriately attired to be her Prince Charming.
The couple's son and daughter attended the ceremony, with outfits matching mom and dad. Carey shared photos and messages via Twitter, saying she felt extremely blessed to have Cannon in her life and called herself "the luckiest mom in the world."
Carey was keen to share snippets of her big day with photos and videos through Twitter's Vine app.
"Happy 5th (!!!!!!) Anniversary to the Best Husband in All The Land & 2 years ago pon de delivery room=luckiest Mommy in The WORLD!" she wrote, later adding, "Celebrating our anniversary & #dembabies birthday (can you believe they're 2??) #blessed"
There were about 150 people invited to the remarriage ceremony, which was preceded by a birthday party for the twins to celebrate their second. Carey arrived for her special day in a horse-drawn carriage and was swept away by her prince to the Sleeping Beauty Castle afterwards, as fireworks exploded in the sky. Cannon's gift to his wife for their fifth anniversary was a gorgeous chandelier.
What does it cost to have such a swanky wedding? According to E!:
First off, we've learned that in order to rent the Sleeping Beauty's Castle location, where Carey and Cannon exchanged vows, you can only do it when the park is closed (after 8 p.m. during spring) and the minimum cost would be $135,000. It would include basic setup for the ceremony and for the reception afterwards and basic decorations.
If you wanted different decorations or specific music during the ceremony or reception (Cannon served as DJ during the post-ceremony party), that would cost more.
The horse-drawn Cinderella Crystal Carriage that the lovebirds rode down Main Street on costs $3,150 and comes with a personal footman.
