Maxim's 2013 Top 100 list of the hottest female celebrities has been published. The top honor goes to singer & actress Miley Cyrus.

Apparently, Cyrus' efforts to shed her "girl next door" image from her "Hanna Montana" days has paid off.

Despite her "butched" hairdo, growing number of body tattoos, and questionable engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth, Cyrus has maintained her hotness above 99 other celebrities who made the list and countless others who did not.

Cyrus said she is amazed to be number one on the list and revealed that it is the inner desire of every woman to top Maxim's top 100. That is high praise indeed for a magazine that has reduced its number issues from twelve per year to ten.

"It feels amazing to be No. 1," she told Maxim, "especially because it was voted on by the fans. I have the best fans in the world! It's every woman's fantasy to be told she's No.1 on Maxim's Hot 100! So crazy!"

The Maxim 100 list has only been published for the past 14 years, but that is enough for the list to be the wish of every woman.

The list is done by online votes, and Cyrus' fan base turned out in force to give her the early lead which she never ceded.

The 20-year-old entertainer follows in the footsteps of previous winners Bar Refaeli, Katy Perry, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson.

"This pixie-haired beauty brought it home for America, storming to the top spot the first week of voting and never losing command of her seat of world power," the magazine stated in a press release, "So as we officially rename 2013 the Year of the Miley, let's all party in the U.S.A. and rock out to her collaborations with Maxim heroes like Snoop Lion and will.i.am. Miley, we hereby anoint thee Queen of Our Hearts."

Cyrus is followed by 20-year-old Selena Gomez, whose bikini-wearing, bong-smoking role in "Spring Breakers" undoubtedly helped to magnify her sex appeal this year. Rihanna, Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence round out the top five.

There were also a few surprise names making the list this year. "Today" show host Hoda Kotb is No. 79. Maxim refers to the 48-year-old as an "Egyptian goddess." Manti Te'o's imaginary girlfriend also makes an appearance at No. 69.

And depending on your tastes, there were some upsets this year as well. Beyonce failed to crack the top 10 and came in at No. 14. This came as a bit of a shock since Queen Bey has had a mega-watt year with scintillating moments, including her Super Bowl Halftime Show and Mrs. Carter World Tour performances. Beauties Megan Fox and Blake Lively were ranked in the 20s, while Ashley Benson and Kat Dennings placed in the 80s.

Another person making the list is the "girlfriend" of Manti Te'o which fictitious girl left egg on his face when it was revealed she didn’t exist.

She made i#69 on the list. Really? Te'o's faux girlfriend kept a strictly cyber relationship with him making her ranking ironic.
