The famous rift between the legendary Beatles singer Paul McCartney and his former band mate's wife, Yoko Ono, is now over. The widow of John Lennon is thought by many to be the reason the band split up in the early 70's. This lead to a long time feud between McCartney and Ono.

However, the aging music icon recently told Rolling Stone Magazine that he is over their famous dispute.

He told Rolling Stone:

"I thought, 'If John loved her, there's got to be something. He's not stupid'" and added that bandmate George Harrison once advised him to let go of his negative feelings, telling McCartney, "You don't want stuff like that hanging around in your life".

As a result, Yoko Ono said she was thankful that McCartney took the time to air his thoughts publicly. She even stated that she has always loved his music. Ono even went as far to mention that she never really had a problem with McCartney.

She tells the Associated Press, "I'm very thankful. I never felt too bad about Paul. He was my husband's partner and they did a great job and all that. They seemed to have a lot of fun, and I respected that."

Despite the airing of apologies, the fact remains that things are still quite vague concerning their fight. Who knows if the public will ever really know what happened behind closed doors? Speculation is that Ono refused McCartney the rights to change credits on some of his songs.

At least, McCartney has decided to let things go and forgive Ono publicly in one of the most storied music publications of all time. He even called her "bad ass" in reference to her own artistic endeavors.
