Mariah Carey Trashes American Idol “Hell”
[caption id="attachment_73744" align="aligncenter" width="436"] Photo:Steve Gawley[/caption]Mariah Carey is in a category which few singers ever achieve. To date, she has sold over 200 million records and signed some of the largest ever recording contracts. Therefore, it was no surprise that when she was signed on as a judge on the panel of the hit show "American Idol" she received the largest ever salary by a reality TV show judge at $18 million.
During a Hot 97 radio interview Carey had this to say:
"I was led to believe — I was the first person signed on," Carey said (video below). "Heaven forbid I look like I'm saying something negative, but honestly I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice dangling monetary moment. I was like, okay, Randy Jackson will be there, I've known him forever. This isn't a big deal. This will be nothing. But it wasn't that. It was like hell. It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan."
However, Carey has left the show after one year and has conducted what might loosely be called an "exit interview" albeit with the press and not with human resources. Carey says the experience was like going to work every day with Satan. It should be noted that Carey has never claimed to perform exorcisms or dabble in the dark arts that she would have direct knowledge of what it is like to work with the Biblical figure and epitome of all evil.
That said, Carey's comments are a tacit admission that the devil is likely Nicki Minaj. American Idol uses a three judge panel. For season twelve, Carey was joined by Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj. Given that she expressed a fondness for Urban, there is only one other person that could fill the satanic role and this is her nemesis Nicki Minaj.
