Joe Manganiello Reveals Drinking Problem
Actor Joe Maganiello, Eleven Years Sober, Opens Up About His Alcoholism
Joe Maganiello, best known for his role as the werewolf Alcide Herveaux in HBO'S popular drama "True Blood", recently opened up about the fact that he is a recovered alcoholic who has been sober for the past eleven years. He revealed his struggle with alcohol abuse in an interview with the HuffPost Live where he was promoting his book "Evolution: The Cutting Edge Guide to Breaking Down Mental Walls and Building the Body You've Always Wanted".
Maganiello addresses his four-year struggle in the book. As a young man in his early 20s, he became aware that this drinking had taken a life unto itself. In order to restore the balance in his life, he had to turn inward and make behavioral changes which he effort described as an "inside job".
When people think of Maganiello, they see the 6'5" muscular figure who is considered one of best werewolves in Hollywood history. Little do they know that he was once broken and homeless as a result of his addiction. He now finds that his success in life was born as a direct result of his failures. In counsel that is applicable in every age, Maganiello expressed gratitude for his errors and failures because they have led to the peace he now has in life.
