Her recent eBay auction purportedly set up for charitable purposes appears to have changed the minds of some people.

Kardashian sold memorabilia, collectibles and clothing on the popular auction website recently to help raise funds for the Philippines where people are still recovering from last month's killer typhoon that left more than 5,900 dead and the land damaged beyond recognition.

Although Kardashian reportedly told buyers that only part of the sale of some of the lot items would go to charity, the amount she finally decided to donate, 10 percent, has resulted in heavy criticism this week from fans and critics alike.

Kardashian addressed the matter in a letter posted on her website. She stated that she gives to a charity every month. She then told site visitors that the Philippines' people need everyone's help “no matter how big or small.”

She also claimed in the letter that after she pays out fees to eBay, PayPal and an auction management agency, the amount remaining is usually only half of the final sale bid. She then donates 10 percent from that amount.
