Young sweethearts and singing duo Alex and Sierra were crowned the winners of X Factor season 3. Thus far, fans of the show understand how emotional Sierra is as the beautiful singer wears her heart on her sleeve. However, much to everyone's surprise it was Alex who began shedding tears of joy before Sierra.

In an interview, Alex said that the victory was overwhelming the strobe lights, victory music, and rush of people to the stage to congratulate the duo proved too much for him to contain and out came the tears of joy.

It was an emotional outpouring to say the least. Competitors Restless Road and Colton were embracing Alex wishing them well amid more tears. Alex said the moment was one of the best of his life.

What comes next? Well that's obvious. The winners are given a recording contract with Simon Cowell's own label called Syco Music. The contract is worth $1 million, but it should be noted that this is an 80% drop from seasons one and two which offered the winners a $5 million recording contract. Still, being a finalist in the competition gave the duo national exposure they were unlikely to get otherwise.
