Prince disappoints fans During “Special” Performance

Fans Feel Scammed by Special Prince Performance

Fans who paid $150 each to attend a special post-performance aftershow by rock star Prince in Connecticut on December 30 were sorely disappointed by their musical idol. The singer has already finished a three day engagement at the Mohegan Sun Arena and fans had presumed that Prince would also be performing at the early morning aftershow that required a special ticket. The Purple Rain singer, however, only appeared for a few minutes at the mixing desk to encourage the DJ to start a new track. He never addressed his enthusiastic fans or took the stage in order to perform.

The NPG, Prince's backing band, assembled on stage around 4 o'clock in the morning and gave a very short 20-minute performance. That's when fans began booing loudly after realizing that Prince had no intention of performing anything extra at this post-performance event and that they had spent $150 just to hear his back-up band. Concert officials have agreed to offer people refunds for the disappointing post-performance aftershow.

Prince, whose real name is Prince Rogers Nelson, has made no comment about the event and whether or not he was contractually obligated to perform for fans assembled for this specially ticketed event.
