Nicollette Sheridan Granted New Wrongful Termination Lawsuit

Los Angeles, California - It's been almost five years since the character "Edie Britt" of the show "Desperate Housewives", played by actress Nicollette Sheridan, was killed off the series. However, Sheridan can't get over her contract not being renewed and has filed multiple lawsuits to collect damages from her former ABC employer.

Her first lawsuit actually went to trial but ended in a mistrial in February 2012 when jurors were unable to reach a verdict. Ever since that time, she has sought a new trial with the case being tossed out of court thrice for various reasons. However, on Wednesday, her lawyers, who are the only guaranteed winners in her protracted legal battles, managed to get a Los Angeles judge to reconsider his previous motion to deny a new trial. With the judge’s new ruling, a new case will be tried. Touchstone Studios, ABC, and her former producer Marc Cherry, who are co-defendants in the lawsuit, plan to appeal the decision for a new trial.

Sheridan did not make any friends while on the show. Her fellow cast members have rallied to the defense of Marc Cherry against allegations of physical abuse by Sheridan. The actress was reported to have been difficult to work with and prone to make wild allegations about other staff members.
