Nancy Motes was found dead in her bathtub the victim of an apparent drug overdose at the age of 37. She was the half-sister of Academy Award winning actress Julia Roberts. It is believed that when Motes was discovered in the bathtub by her fiancé John Dilbeck, the suicide note contained dark revelations about Julia Roberts that would disparage the actress' reputation.

Now, Dilbeck, who was engaged to marry Motes, is further complicating matters by denying that his late fiancée was a drug addict. If he is correct, a whole new twist on her passing away opens up. What is certain at this time is that Dilbeck is grieving over the loss of his would-be wife. When interviewed by reporters as he was about making final arrangements, he was visibly distressed and emotional over Motes' death.

He also acknowledged that the actress, up for another Academy Award for her role in the film "August: Osage County", had contacted him after her sister’s death, but he did not disclose what the two discussed. It is also reported that Roberts had been making various attempts to get her sister into drug rehab treatment which efforts intensified over the past six months.
