Melissa Joan Hart talks about her 40 pound weight loss

Actress Melissa Joan Hart is looking a lot hotter these days thanks to a 40-pound weight loss as she recovered from the birth of Tucker, her son, almost 18 months ago. She gained some 60 pounds with the pregnancy and birth, but took time losing it while she bonded with her new child. She said it was more important to bond than concentrate on healthy eating habits that ultimately are all-important.

The 37-year-old star talked about her weight loss thanks to Nutrisystem and exercise on "ET." She said she was ready for her photo close-up in a one-piece swimsuit due to the successful weight loss even though the process was nerve-wracking.

"I felt prepared. I was confident," she told ET of posing in a one-piece blue swimsuit. "I don't wear bikinis even when I go to the beach, so when I put it on in front of the cameras and all these people, and my husband showed up -- it's nerve-wracking but the feeling is very satisfying."

Hart said her healthy eating and weight loss have made her happier about her figure. She also credited husband Mark with helping her lose weight. His discipline and support after three babies was key to losing weight, she said. It's all good, but yo-yo weight gains and losses aren't on her agenda, Hart said, for she and hubby are through having babies for a long time if not for all time. She said it was key to keep off the weight so she could look great in her 40s.
