Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott Had Purchased $10M Home Shortly Before Her Suicide
In another bit of news that underscores how deeply blindsided Mick Jagger was the by the suicide of his partner of 13-years L'Wren Scott, the couple had recently purchased a $10 million home located in New York. In all candor, when it is said the couple purchased a home it likely means Mick Jagger put up the money, but L'Wren got to go on title.
This is because Scott's business was in desperate financial trouble. Her business LS Fashion Ltd was said to owe creditors $7.6 million and have a deficit of $6 million. As details begin to emerge, it is painfully obvious that L'Wren Scott had no concept of how to manage money and her partner’s vast fortune became an enabler for her poor financial practices. However, comments from people who knew her before she hooked up with Jagger make it evident the tall and slender brunette had money management problems predating her relationship with the Rolling Stones' front man.
Craig Avner, the interior designer who restored a villa of hers in the mid-90s, recalled how she was frequently tardy in paying him for his services. She also bartered publicity credits in exchange for his work, but never made good on giving him the publicity. He also recalled how she had him bring in furniture items from stores to see how to fit her villa. She later decided to keep the items forcing him to pay for them because he had secured them for her using his credit card.
She also had an argument with Mick Jagger a year ago February when it emerged that she had refinanced the bought & paid for condo he gave her in New York City. She hawked it for $1.2 million and only informed him of the loan when her loan was in default.
