Arrr Matey! Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 Delayed

Pirates Of The Caribbean 5
Rumors have persisted since the end credits of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 about whether 2011’s highest paid actor, Johnny Depp, would reprise the role of Jack Sparrow one more time.
P.O.C. producer Jerry Bruckheimer has long had the script for a fifth installment in the works, however, a recent interview with the L.A. Times revealed that Bruckheimer wasn’t willing to do a Pirates of the Caribbean 5 without Depp as Captain Sparrow.
The release date for the fifth instalment in the film series has been removed from Disney’s distribution schedule. The action film was originally scheduled to launch July 10, 2015.
Disney previously announced that the fifth Pirates film will be directed by Kon-Tiki filmmakers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg and was expected to begin production next year.
The move comes after Disney’s The Lone Ranger failed at the box office this summer and the studio moved the debut of Marvel’s Ant-Man from Nov. 6, 2015, to July 31, 2015.
Earlier this year Depp revealed he was able and willing to play Captain Jack, at least one more time.
“I think they can wheel me in,” Depp says. “[I’ll get my dreads] tangled in the wheels of my chair. Interestingly enough, for me a character like Captain Jack you feel you could just continue. The possibilities are endless and limitless. There is any possibility of madness and absurdity that could commence. You feel with this character you are never really done.”
The 49-year-old actor will reportedly return as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fifth instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, netting about £60 million ($A90 million).
