Duchess Kate’s Nose the most sought after in Britain

Princess Katherine, the Duchess of Cambridge is fast becoming the role model of a generation of British women; cosmetic surgeons claim that the number of patients asking for nose reshaping to resemble the Duchess’s have almost trebled since 2011. Women who are unhappy with their facial features are flocking to cosmetic surgeons in an attempt to gain some of the apparent happiness and confidence of Kate by having their noses reshaped to resemble hers.

Cosemtic surgeons Plastic surgeon Maurizio Persico believes the Duchess’s nose is almost perfect and displays the features most requested by patients. The nose of Kate is said to be symmetrical, small and straight, which are the requested features for those who feel they have crooked or large noses that draw attention away from their other facial features.

Cosmetic surgeons explain the Duchess’s nose gives her an almost perfect profile that those women who feel their noses are not perfect are flocking to cosmetic surgeons to have replicated.

‘Her nose is straight with a cute, rounded tip and is perfectly in proportion to her face,’ he explains.

‘This gives Kate an attractive and striking profile. Plus, she always looks happy and confident in photos, which is especially appealing to women whose own appearance makes them unhappy — those who feel self-conscious about larger or crooked noses, which they believe dominate their faces.’

According to psychologist Carmen Lefevre, there is actually a hard-wired evolutionary preference for Kate’s small, straight nose.

‘The symmetry of Kate’s nose, the angle between her lip and the tip of her nose and the minimal amount of nostril on show, are all near-perfect,’ she explains.

ABC News reports that Dr. Thomas Romo III, director of facial plastic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, said Middleton’s nose has “a strong, defined tip, a gentle, feminine swoop on the bridge and a great front-to-back projection. And it’s perfectly in proportion to her face.” He added: “It’s strong. It’s a woman’s nose. It’s not infantile. It’s not overdone. And I don’t think Kate has a nose job. I think she was just blessed with good genes.”

Sarah Hattley, 31, of Redhill, Surrey had a rhinoplasty in October 2011. She said:
I’ve admired Kate since she first got engaged to William. I’ve tried to copy her natural make-up and long, glossy hair style: she always looks so effortlessly groomed. But it was her perfect nose — narrow and petite, with a subtle upturn — that always caught my eye in pictures….

About four years ago, I started thinking about surgery.. Then, 18 months ago, a colleague had a nose job with fantastic results… That’s when I realised I wanted mine to look like Kate’s.
I turned up to my first appointment armed with photos of Kate. I took out a 12-month interest-free loan to cover the £4,900 cost.

Danielle Murray, 24, of Manchester, also had her nose reformed to look like Middleton’s:
When I look in the mirror, I no longer see the hooked Roman nose I’d hated for years. I see a cute, slightly upturned nose just like the Duchess of Cambridge’s, and it makes me incredibly happy. My fixation with my nose started when I was 13, after a boy at school started teasing me, saying: ‘You need to sort your big nose out!’ It had never bothered me before, but I became instantly obsessed.
