Menards Christmas tree recall

The holiday season just got a little more dangerous this year. Some lighted artificial Christmas trees that are only sold at Menards stores have been recalled, due to safety problems.

The tree that is being recalled is called the Enchanted Forest Twinkling Pine. It is a green, artificial Christmas tree that comes decorated with champagne-colored lights on it. It also comes with a green stand. It has been recalled due to two people reporting that the lights overheat, causing melting or smoking.

The model number of the recalled Christmas tree is 287-1261. The UPC code on the tree’s box is 741895425478. The UPC code should also be found on a red tag that is on the tree. These recalled artificial trees were only sold at the Menards stores or at their online store between the months of September and November of 2013.

If you have this tree, you should immediately unplug it. You can return it to the Menards store for a complete refund. The trees sold for around $300 and the Menards retail store sold about $1,800 of them so far this year. As soon as they heard about the recall, they stopped selling the trees and pulled all the units off the store shelves.
