Obama Family Christmas Photo Op Upstaged by Funny Faced Elf

President Obama made his annual appearance during filming of the Christmas in Washington Benefit concert but the commander in chief was upstaged by a young elf who decided it was time to steal the spotlight when he mugged a funny face for the camera. The President was accompanied by First Lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters.

The First Lady decided to inject some levity into the situation by asking the photographer to get everyone in the mood with a few funny faces.

“Hey, you guys, you going to help us?” Mrs. Obama asked, as the president applauded his little assistants.

“Good job, elves,” President Obama said. “Nice job.” But one youngster outfitted in red and green as a Christmas elf beat the photographer to the punch by sporting his own funny face, cracking up the First Family in the process.

This is the 32nd year that the Christmas in Washington concert has been held to benefit the Children’s National Medical Center. The show is slated to air on the TNT Channel on Friday, December 20. Serving as master of ceremonies for the festivities, which always feature an appearance by the first couple, is film actor and musical Broadway star Hugh Jackman. The President in his remarks teased Jackman, thanking him for leaving his Wolverine claws at home, where they come in handy for roast beef carving.
