Los Angeles, CA – Police have taken into their custody a 50-year-old man who shot and killed his wife in their home. He then drove over to the North Hills community and shot and killed his sister at the Country Villa Sheraton nursing facility located at 9600 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. For reasons unclear, he also took a shot at a 58-year-old female employee at the facility, but missed. The police were called and upon their arrival, he peacefully surrendered into their custody.

“He gave up without any problems at all,” said LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon.

For the time being, his name has not been made public. Authorities believe that his motive was euthanasia or mercy killings. Both victims were suffering from physical conditions from which they would not recover. His wife had dementia and his sister was in a vegetative state. It isn’t clear what caused his sisters condition.

Initially, all that was known was that he killed his sister with a single bullet to the head. His family grew deeply concerned upon hearing the news and requested that police check in on his wife. That’s when they discovered her body as well.
