During Wednesday night's episode of American Idol the main talk about he show was not the talents of the contestants, but the skintight red dress worn by judge Nicki Minaj. One Twitter user tweeted the dress with a revealing window for the 30 year old singer's cleavage was very "stripper like" for a family show on the Fox network. The changing style of Minaj has been discussed often overt he early part of 2013 after the style team responsible for her early career were replaced by new stylists; if Twitter is a mark of the public response to the new style direction of the Super Bass singer may need to be reevaluated.

Alongside the shock over the outfit worn by Nicki Minaj the ongoing on camera feud between her and fellow judge Mariah Carey was also extremely evident during the episode. The feud, which has grown since the audition phase of the current season of Idol has descended into insults between the pair as they attempt to prove themselves the better judge. Last night, Minaj told Cary to "simmer down, Sir" as the pair continued to argue live on air; reports from earlier in the season claimed Minaj and Carey have come close to a physical fight over the feud.
