On Thursday night's episode of "Glee" the cast bid farewell to the late Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the show. Monteith was thirty-one when he passed away in July from an alcohol and heroine overdose.

Monteith's character Finn was McKinley High School's quarterback who became a Glee Club member. The show, once praised for it's brutal honesty, did not reveal how the character died. Fans of the show were left wondering and at the beginning of the episode Chris Colfer's character Kurt addressed it briefly and then said, "That doesn't matter."

Different characters on the show handled their grief in different ways from Puck getting drunk in the locker room to Santana assaulting Principal Sue Sylvester. They sang various weepy, mourning songs from "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor to "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry. Rachel Berry, played by Monteith's real life girlfriend at the time of his death Lea Michele, sang the Bob Dylan song "Make You Feel My Love."

The show's creators Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan inserted comedic moments accordingly and brought back a couple of the characters from the earlier seasons of the show when it was in its hay day.
