2013's word of the year was "selfie" which aptly described the personal and at times intimate photographs people post of themselves. With the 2014 Sochi Winter Games only weeks away, a new internet meme has kicked off and it's the Selfie Olympics. Participants are Tweeting photographs of themselves in awkward poses which are best performed by the young for the most part.

One pose featured a young man with both feet on the bathroom vanity while holding up his body with the left arm off the wall and his right arm under his left knee holding his camera. Another photograph featured a young woman with both legs spread out on the edge of the bathroom vanity as she holds up her body using her right arm on the door knob as she turns to the mirror for her photograph.

One adult male is seemingly wearing nothing but his bathrobe as he has left foot on the bathroom vanity and the right leg cross over his leg. His laptop is on his lap while he sips some coffee with his back against the wall. As stated earlier, anyone can participate, but it does seem that the Selfie Olympics, like the actual Olympics, will largely be a spectator sport.
