Only a day after a an incident involving a bus getting lodged underneath a gantry at the finish line of the first Tour De France stage, a dog nearly caused a massive pile up in the middle of the road.
Video captured the little white dog, who had gotten away from it’s owner playfully run into the middle of the course. His tail was wagging and it seemed as if he was trying to be playful, unaware of the cyclists closing in just a few meters away.
The dog’s owner ran onto the track to try and save his dog, and the cyclists from an unfortunate incident. In what looked like a scene from a slapstick comedy, the man rushes out for the dog, the dog scurries away from the owner and just before the cyclists run them both over, the man runs back to where he came from and the dog makes it to the other side of the road.
The man narrowly escaped being hit by the cyclists as did the dog, and the cyclists narrowly missed a disastrous crash. The dog was unharmed but I’m sure he got a time out for his little stunt. The cyclists continued on and finished the race.
