NFL Linebacker to Replace Stolen Turkeys at Local Charity

Vallejo, CA – The Mission Solano, which serves the needs of the poor and needy in the city, has a lot to be grateful this Thanksgiving Day. They received word that native son and professional linebacker James-Michael Johnson will be footing the bill to purchase 300 turkeys for the charity organization.

The news of Johnson’s generosity comes on the heels of their announcement that thieves had raided the cache of turkeys they were intending to feed to the community. Hundreds of turkeys were reported stolen. Johnson is a 6’1″ block of muscle who joined the Kansas City Chiefs in September under a waiver clause. He’s not a starter with the Chiefs and is currently on their reserve list. In other words, he’s not hauling down the stacks of cash that his other teammates are making. Still, he is giving back to his neighbors.

In fact, his alma mater Rodriguez High School is located close to the Mission Solano homeless shelter. Johnson was a star athlete at his high school. There’s nothing like a hometown hero giving back to the community. Mission Solano conducts an annual Thanksgiving Day meal to feed the homeless and typically serves 1,000 people.
