Walmart Shooting: Employee Shoots Co-Worker

One employee from a Wisconsin Walmart store has been arrested while another employee from the same store is fighting for her life. Justine Boyd has been arrested, accused of shooting her 56-year-old co-worker.

The incident occurred in the morning hours of August 14 near the store’s liquor section where Boyd worked as a cashier. Police arrived to the scene shortly after receiving emergency calls stating that someone inside the store had been shot. As the victim was rushed away to the hospital, authorities placed Boyd under arrest.

Police officers recovered a handgun at the scene.

Walmart released a statement late yesterday, stating “the company was committed to cooperating and working with authorities in order to uncover information that may assist in the investigation.”

While the victim’s name has not been released to the public, store employees told reporters at the scene that both Boyd and the victim worked as cashiers at the store and most likely knew each other.

The victim was shot once in the torso and was transported to the Theda Clark Medical Center. A spokesperson for the medical center would not confirm the identity of the shooting victim, but stated that the victim remained in critical condition.
