Woody Allen’s son opens old wounds on Twitter

Actor/Director Woody Allen was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement during Sunday’s Golden Globes Award program. His estranged son Ronan Farrow was later asked for his take on the award. His reply was curt and sharply worded. He simply asked if the list of accomplishments included molesting a 7-year-old girl during the filming of the 1977 blockbuster film “Annie Hall”.

Farrow’s comment resurrects a more than two decade old allegation of child molestation made by Allen’s adopted daughter Dylan. Woody Allen has denied the allegations, but it should be noted that a denial is common behavior for child molesters. It does bare mentioning that Woody Allen left his partner of 12 years Mia Farrow for her 19-year-old adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn with whom he has now been married to for 15 years and has two children. In and of itself, it is not proof of any other behavior, but neither does it counter any allegations either.

To this day, Dylan bears emotional scars that are consistent with having been molested which include fear of her attacker and poor self-confidence. The charges were dismissed from court and it may have something to do with Dylan’s inability to muster the courage to testify.
