Sydney, Australia - In a forthcoming episode of the Australian ABC Network's series "Family Confidential", the Kerr family consisting of father, mother, brother, and grandmother plead with the 30-year-old supermodel to reach out to the family once more.
They claim that a full year has gone by without so much as a word from their 30-year-old daughter and her son Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom who just turned three last month. She has been estranged from her family.
Her father John admitted that if it weren't for her soon-to-be ex-husband Orlando Bloom, they would not know about the marriage separation. Well, that's not entirely accurate as the tabloids would more than keep them current on all of Kerr's latest skinny.
"I remember him saying 'We're always going to be family' and that's how we'll treat Orlando, Miranda and Flynn. We're all family," he said.
Her mother Therese once worked as the general manager of Kerr's company Kora Organics which produces natural beauty products. She held that post for roughly one year before stepping down a year ago this month amid speculation that she had a falling out with her daughter. What is certain is the Kerr family want to be there for their daughter and keep contact with her son.
"Miranda's life is so different now (and) she's surrounded by yes people all the time. It's so important for me to be real, to be true, to be who she needs me to be... We have been best friends for most of our life. We used to talk just about every day. I send her messages, just little texts to say 'I love you honey, let your little light shine...'"
Her father attributes the lack of family closeness to the high profile nature of Miranda and Orland Bloom's careers.
A spokeswoman for Kerr told the Herald Sun: "(She) wasn't able to be back in Australia... due to her busy international work schedule but is grateful to her parents, brother and extended family in Australia for their ongoing support and love."
The episode will air in Australia on ABC1 next week.
