Rape Trial of Football Heroes Brings Local Town Under Fire
(eCanadaNow) - Two members of the local high school football team have been charged with the rape of a schoolmate during a party involving alcohol, reports Yahoo News.
From the charges against the two sixteen year old defendants Trent Mays and Ma'Lik Richmond, the teenage boys took advantage of a female classmate as she lay on the floor inebriated and completely undressed. However, the trial may end up being far more complicated.
Thanks to the social media, a computer hacking group known as Anonymous obtained video contents of other members of the football team bragging about what may be rape.
In short, the victim may have been gang raped while she was unconscious. The matter has gone straight to the office of the Ohio Attorney General Mark DeWine. A women's right group is petitioning the office of Mr. DeWine to investigate the matter fully. The local community is being accused to protecting the identities of all the players involved, and social media is preventing that.
