Sisters of Iowa State Senator Found Dead
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Police found the bodies of Susan and Sarah Wolfe in the basement of their East Liberty residence at 1:15AM Saturday morning after responding to a call to check up on the two women ages 44 & 38 respectively. The Wolfe family grew concerned for them after they failed to show up at work. Sarah Wolfe had only recently purchased the home in this quiet neighborhood on December 3 for $210,000. Her older sister Susan made the move from Iowa specifically to live with her sister and had recently settled in.
The official cause of death is under investigation, but thus far police have said it appeared the two ladies died of gunshot wounds. However, they were not able to see any visible signs of forced entry. The victims are the siblings of Iowa State Senator Mary Wolfe from Clinton, Iowa. Sarah was a psychiatrist at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic and her sister Susan worked at the Hillel Academy as a teacher's aide. Mary Wolfe posted a message on her Facebook page that she is devastated by the loss of her sisters, but also grateful for the outpouring of support from family, friends, and neighbors.
