Stolen Plane DUI Arrest In Nevada

Man Goes on Alcohol Fueled Airplane Joyride

Boulder City, Nevada - police in this Southern Nevada city of 15,000 people have taken Paul Michael Waddle into custody and charged him with crimes stemming from a drunken joyride he took aboard a Cessna Caravan. Never mind the fact that he didn't own the plane, Waddle put the lives of residents at risk. The Cessna belongs to Scenic Airlines and was stationed at the Boulder City airport. At roughly 11:30PM local time this past Sunday, the airline reported that a thief had made off with one of their planes.

By the time police had arrived on the scene, Waddle had thrice taken off the runway with the plane and landed it. Admittedly, he has skill to be able to do that while intoxicated. His blood alcohol level was measured at .132 meaning that at the time of his arrest13.2% of the liquid in his veins was alcohol. Sgt. John Glenn, who works for the Boulder City Police Department, had never before seen police have to pull over a plane on a DUI charge. For his fun, Waddle now faces the charges of theft of an aircraft, obstructing a police officer, and a DUI charge for manning a plane while drunk.
