Detroit Strip Club Owner Flips the Bird at Ex-Wife — For Good

On Saturday, November 16, 2013, the news of a scorned strip club owner erecting a giant sculpture of a middle finger in his backyard made headlines across several outlets. Alan Markovitz, well-known in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan for his successful chain of gentlemen’s clubs, is now the talk of the town for a quite different reason.

According to Metro, Markovitz and his now ex-wife, Lea Tuohy, had a two-year long marriage before she cheated on him with a mutual friend. The couple soon got divorced and, as “karma” would have it, Markovitz’s real estate agent found a house for him right next door to Tuohy in Orchard Lake.

“Karma took over,” Markovitz told Detroit Deadline.

Contrary to popular belief, however, the 12-foot high illuminating sculpture isn’t aimed towards his ex-wife, per se. The glory of permanently flipping the bird from his backyard is a message he wants to get across to the man with whom she had an affair.

“I’m so over her,” Markovitz said. “This is about him. This about him not being a man.”

Ironically, Lenka Tuohy, Lea’s daughter, is much the same irritated by Alan, as he is by Lea’s new beau. “Real classy Alan,” she tweeted.
