Andrea Sanderlin AKA ‘Pot Mom’ Pleads Guilty
45-year-old Andrea Sanderlin, an attractive blond mother of three, hails from the posh small city of Scarsdale, New York. This tiny town of just over 17,000 has a median income of $300,000. However, one of their residents has just plead guilty to running a very lucrative marijuana business in a Queens warehouse over the past four years.
Sanderlin confessed to as many as 1,000 pot plants in her warehouse which grew what she termed “marijuana-related” products. She was arrested in May and at times was likened unto the fictional character “Nancy Botwin” aka Price aka “Lacey LaPlante” aka “Nathalie Newman” of the award winning Showtime series “Weeds” which ran for eight seasons.
The US Drug Enforcement Agency first began to scrutinize Sanderlin when they linked a Consolidated Edison account for electricity to power irrigation, lighting, and ventilation at a warehouse in Queens operating under the name Fantastic Enterprises. When her warehouse was raided, authorities found 2,800 marijuana plants and a cache of dried pot with a street value of $3 million. Sanderlin has posted the half-million dollar bond and faces ten years if convicted. Wasn’t President Obama supposedly too busy to prosecute marijuana cases? Sadly for Sanderlin, the answer is no.
