After Woman is Killed in NYC Car Crash, Her Child is Born

A young married couple living in New York City was being driven to the hospital in a cab, when their car was crashed into.

As a result, 21-year-old parents to be Raizi Gluber and Nathan Gluber were both killed in the horrific crash, according to CNews

The young mother was feeling ill earlier in they day on Saturday so they called a driver to take them to the hospital.

According to a report from the AP, the accident took place in Brooklyn, NYC early Sunday morning on March 3rd. The husband was pinned inside the car, while the wife’s body was launched forward landing under a tractor trailer.

Both individuals were pronounced dead at the hospital due to the trauma they suffered. Their child is known to be in serious condition, but no other information was released pertaining to his condition. Also, the driver of the car is in stable condition, while the driver of the other car left the scene of the crime with another passenger.

“Upon impact, the male driver and additional occupant of Vehicle #2 fled the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle behind,” police said in a statement.

According to reports, the sad deaths of the parents devastated the Orthodox community in Williamsburg, where the accident occurred and where people were thinking of the child’s well-being, said family friend and community leader Isaac Abraham.

“How can the community react? It’s a shock. It’s like a punch in the gut,” said Abraham, who has known the deceased mother’s parents since childhood. “People are not prepared for this. Parents are not prepared to bury their children.”

In Decemeber of 2012, a car crash in Chandler, Arizona killed a mother who was eight months pregnant — but her baby managed to survive.

The victim, 30-year-old Wei Chu, was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after the crash. She had just enough time to deliver a baby girl before she passed away. Chandler Police Department spokesman Seth Tyler said that the baby was still in critical condition on Thursday night.
