Beyonce & Jay Z Team for Sulty Start to Grammy Show

The 2014 Grammy Awards got off to a steamy start when real-life partners Beyoncé and Jay Z teamed up to perform “Drunk in Love” as the opening number for show. Things got off to a seductive start on a darkened stage that highlighted Beyoncé seated on a chair and showing her back to audience members as she began singing the song’s sexy lyrics. Audience members erupted in cheers when Jay Z joined her on the stage to sing his part, delighting fans further by joining hands and doing a bit of slow dancing. The Grammy Awards was the first time that the musical super couple performed “Drunk in Love” together live.

Many critics praised their performance for being sultry and steamy without being cheap and risqué, a reference no doubt to the questionable duet performed at another awards ceremony by a writhing Miley Cyrus, egged on by Robin Thicke. Jay Z couldn’t wipe the smile off his face throughout his performance with his spouse and he even managed to give his wife’s rear end a playful pat at one point during the song. Beyoncé’s current album continues to stay at the chart’s number one slot for the sixth consecutive week.
