Beyonce Opens Up in Oprah Interview

On February 16th, 2013, the OWN network aired Oprah’s candid interview with the fiercely private Beyonce Knowles. The interview aired just before Beyonce’s revealing documentary, “Life is But a Dream”.

Beyonce was unusually candid about her life. Discussing her relationship with husband, Jay-Z, she told Oprah she’s the woman she is because of him and called Jay-Z her “foundation”.

On the subject of children, Beyonce admitted to having a miscarriage before she became pregnant with her daughter, Blue Ivy, telling Oprah, “It was one of the hardest things I’ve been through. It was one of the reasons I did not reveal that I was pregnant the second time.” Beyonce also revealed that she’s thinking about having another baby, possibly after her next tour.

Finally, Beyonce spoke openly about her painful relationship with father, Matthew Knowles, her manager until she fired him. She told Oprah that they’ve reached an “understanding”.
