beyonce throws lavish party for mom’s birthday

It’s not every day that a woman reaches the milestone of 60 years. But singer Beyoncé has more resources than most daughters to help their mothers celebrate a 60th birthday in style. Beyoncé selected America’s hottest party city, New Orleans, as the place to throw a special 60th birthday bash for her mother, Tina Knowles, over the weekend. The party had a masquerade theme and mom Tina and sister Solange arrived in style to the party, carried in horse-drawn carriages that were led by a traditional marching band providing upbeat music to get everyone in the mood.

Beyoncé and Solange were rumored to have spent more than $100,000 on the special event, held at Muriel’s Jackson Square. Since Beyoncé wanted her mother to be the center of attention, she made her entrance more quietly just before the festivities began and was not easy to catch for any photographs taken inside the event. Among the many A-list celebrities in attendance at the all night affair were Beyoncé’s spouse, Jay Z, Monica, Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson and reality TV mom Kris Jenner. Mom Tina appeared to be having the time of her life throughout the evening, calling the party epic.
