Bitstrips Have Gone Viral
Facebook and other forms of social media have been experiencing a huge output of “Bitstrip” comics. These personalized comics have flooded social media outlets so thoroughly, as to have gone viral.

Bitstrips is an app launched for Facebook, iPhone, iPod and iOS. It has quickly become the number one free app in online app stores and Google Play, with over 10 million different users. Over 50 million different cartoons have already been shared since its launch in July.

The essence of Bitstrips is very simple. Basically, users can choose from over 1,000 different pre-made templates, graphics, and text and personalize them in anyway they see fit. They can integrate friends and family members into their personal comics, create personalized inside jokes, share them with friends, and express themselves creatively.

There is no “goal” or “plot” to Bitstrips, as it’s not a game. According to Jacob Blackstock, the CEO of Bitstrips: “(Bitstrips) It’s a new way to express yourself…you can create something that relates to your life.”

Bitstrip comics continue to spread along various social media lines, much to the delight of fans and to the annoyance of detractors. And it shows very few signs of slowing.
