Britney Spears Evacuates Home Due To Wildfire

Britney Spears Flees California Home Due to Fire Threat

The California wildfire is still raging and has forced singer Britney Spears, and her children to flee her home over the weekend.

The 31-year-old singer of such classics as “Baby One More Time” and “Toxic” had received a standby notice to vacate her home last week, as did the other residents of Calabasas, if the fire could not be contained. However, even as late as Friday, she was spotted in town.

However, over the weekend that changed and she and her children are now safe and sound at the Los Angeles Four Seasons hotel until the fire is contained. Spears’ home town of Calabasas is nestled in the hills of the San Fernando Valley and is unfortunately surrounded by the very brush fires that fire crews are struggling to contain.

There is no official word on how many of the city’s 23,000 residents were evacuated. In related news, comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi had their farm in Ventura County threatened by the fire. Firefighters feared their home would be consumed by the blaze but in the end were able to beat back the blaze with no damage to their property at all.

DeGeneres and de Rossi allowed the firefighters to stay overnight at their home in an expression of gratitude.
