Neighbor’s Dogs Brutally Butcher Local cat-lover to Death

Dayton Police found the body of a woman who had been brutally mauled to death by her neighbor’s two mixed-breed dogs. The woman is 57-year-old Klonda Richey who was a known “cat lover.” Sources said that she took care of more than 20 cats. Her friends are saddened by her ironic death because she was an avid animal lover.

Dayton police are holding the neighbors, 28-year-old Andrew Nason and 23-year-old Julie Custer, in custody until the formal charges have been placed. The two are looking at a reckless homicide charge at the very least. However, additional charges can be sought if authorities feel the situation is warranted.

Upon arriving on scene, the officers found the nude body of Richey on the sidewalk in front of her home. The dogs charged at the officers, and they were forced to put them down. It was not the first time complaints have been called about the two dogs, and sources say there have been nine complaints before the gruesome incident occurred.

Coworkers reminisced about her love of all things animal, and she will be missed her friends and family. Richey worked as a clerk at the Montgomery County Job & Family Services for more than 16 years.
