Woody Allen’s adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, has sent Cate Blanchet an unusual letter. The letter states that when Dylan was seven years old Allen molested Dylan in their attic. The letter goes on to ask how she and several of her co-stars could still work for Woody knowing that the act took place. After years of claiming his innocence in the matter, Allen has stated that he will speak out about the accusations soon.

“What’s your favorite Woody Allen movie? Before you answer, you should know: when I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house,” Farrow wrote. “He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me.”

In 1993 the case was brought to prosecutors’ attention. After much deliberation the prosecutors decided not to press charges. The decision was probably based on the time that had elapsed and that lack of evidence. Throughout the entire process Allen has maintained his claim of innocence. In the letter Farrow asks stars in Allen’s upcoming movie, Blue Jasmine, why they would continue working with him stating that Scarlett Johansson even knew her as a child.

The letter came as a little bit of a surprise to Cate Blanchet, and she has decided to speak up about it. It appears as though she does not believe the allegations, but that she wanted to let Allen and Farrow know that she read the letter. Other actors such as Alec Baldwin and Emma Stone were asked, “What if it had been your child?”
