On top of all that, she is just as famous for her personal life. She has dated actor Owen Wilson, and athlete Lance Armstrong. However, she never married. She was also treated for breast cancer, which she recovered from.

On May 11, 2007, she adopted Wyatt Steven Crow. On June 4, 2010, she adopted Levi James Crow. Both of her adoptions were closed adoptions. This type of adoption means that the records of the birth parents and adoptive parents are kept sealed. Sometimes, the father isn’t even listed on the birth certificate.

Sheryl Crow recently stated that she had chosen closed adoptions for both of her sons. Because she is a constant fixture on the Internet, and sometimes the tabloids, she wanted to protect their family. She didn’t feel it necessary for the world to know where they came from, especially since they were given up for adoption. And, she felt it would be easier on her boys as well. Currently, she has them on tour with her.
