Former Disney child star Dylan Sprouse has been caught up in a nude selfie scandal after an unnamed former girlfriend leaked full frontal photos of the star Online. 21 year old Dylan, the former star of The Suite Life of Zak & Cody quickly took to Twitter to admit his mistake and make light of the situation.
Within minutes of their release the naked photos became a viral sensation, leading to a huge rise in interest in the former Disney star and his twin brother Cole.
Addressing the photos directly on Twitter, Dylan tweeted that he had made a mistake in taking and texting the photos to the unnamed recipient.
“I messed up… but I’d be a fool not to own up to it. Got to move past it I suppose.” Sprouse also added, “whoops, guess I’m not 14 and fat anymore.”
Twin brother Cole also saw the funny side of the leaked images, stating a little later on Twitter that it must have been cold in the bathroom location of the photos.
With more than 747,000 fans on Twitter, Dylan Sprouse made many references to the photos on the day of publication.
The former Suite Life of Zack & Cody star has since taken to Tumblr to explain why he took them in the first place.
“To be blunt, I was proud of my progress in the gym, thought I looked hot, and wanted to share it,” he wrote. “I’m of the mindset that whoever you are, if you are proud of your body and want to show it off, so be it!”
“What is wrong is that, generally I try to stay cool and collected with my prose and a role model for kids (maybe not anymore shamefully) and this seemingly inconsequential act will likely affect the youth’s impression of me. Not only that, but I worry somewhat for my artistic integrity, and my academic integrity. Not exactly ideal, but I’m to blame and I’ll look this incident in the eye like a man.”
Sprouse concluded with a bit of levity, writing, “I’m making the best of it through humor and I’m getting this shirt made today” alongside a photo of a shirt superimposed with one of the revealing snapshots.
The leaked pictures come just a short time after Dylan claimed the Jonas Brothers were wring in their claims Disney stifled their creativity, the star of The Suite Life on Deck claimed acting was a means of making money for himself and not a way of chasing fame.
“I think it’s bulls–t that they were being robbed of choice or creativity,” he said.
“If they wanted, they could have told Disney ‘no.’ The only reason they didn’t is because, like many people on that channel, I think they fell for the allure of fame.”
“Granted, Cole and I had been acting our entire lives, so we saw it as a means to an end (money making) rather than an opportunity to become successful.”
