Elle Macpherson’s iconic pose Fabulous at Any Age
Elle MacPherson had just turned 30 when she posed partially nude on the cover of Playboy Magazine in 1994.
The iconic model had already gained fame for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in the 1980s and was even known as “The Body”.
Now, at age 49, showing some signs of aging, MacPherson has recreated the iconic pose for Harper’s Bazaar. The Australian from Sydney now sports a more mature look after two children, but is just as attractive now as she was in 1994.
The photographs were taken by legendary rocker Bryan Adams who is an accomplished photographer in his own right. Harper’s Bazaar said the pairing of Adams and MacPherson was nothing short of celestial nuptials.
The issue is themed “Fabulous at Any Age”. For her part, Harper’s Bazaar hopes that the MacPherson-Adams collaboration will become as “epic” as the 1994 Playboy cover became in its day.
‘When I approached Elle she immediately said she would love to work on this project with Bryan Adams, who is her dear friend, a music megastar and an accomplished photographer,’ she told The Daily Telegraph in Sydney. ‘It was a collaboration match made in heaven.
‘She is in incredible shape for a woman about to turn 50,’ Hush added. ‘I hope Bryan Adams’s images for BAZAAR will be as iconic as the 1994 Playboy cover was in its time.’
The super-model is said to have been thrilled at the prospect of working with Bryan Adams when initially approached with the idea. Since 2010, MacPherson has worked as the host of the reality TV show Britain’s Next Top Model. She also has her own line of lingerie and beauty products.
