Derrick Rose Faces Lawsuit from Depressed, Fat Fan

Injuries suffered by Derrick Rose caused the Chicago Bull star to miss the entire 2012-2013 season, but a basketball fan from Peoria wants Rose to pay him for the suffering he’s caused for being absent from the action on the court for so long. Matthew Thompson, an electrician by trade, has filled a lawsuit against Rose claiming that his inability to play all year caused Thompson to become fat as well as depressed.

Thompson claims in his lawsuit that Rose’s refusal to return to the team even after he was cleared to do so by his medical doctors resulted in Thompson experiencing a variety of mental disorders and stress, resulting in his becoming obese and having to deal with assorted medical issues stemming from his weight gain.

Rose was first sidelined from participating alongside his Chicago Bulls teammates early last season when he experienced an ACL tear that ultimately caused him to sit out the entire year.

There are some reports that Rose may return to the Bulls in order to participate in the opening playoff round, but that has not been confirmed by Bulls management. Rose has had no reaction to Thompson’s lawsuit, although many critics are calling his lawsuit frivolous.
